Trapped

I feel trapped while I write about my topic. My topic is on organic food. There are many links about organic food but most of them don't specifically show me the information that I need for my writing process. There are some things that I grabbed upon. One is that it shows most organic milks are considered unhealthier than regular milk. Many companies lie about the foods they put in to their milks so they can get consumers to buy their products. Also, it is shown that organic food is healthier, but pricier than regular foods. Consumers buy to whatever they consider healthy or foods that make them feel happy. My topic is that if we should change our lifestyles to organic foods. But if not, should we just eat however we please? And in conclusion, I think in my opinion, it really doesn't matter what you eat because there are people who eat unhealthily yet, they are seemingly the healthiest than those who care about themselves to the point where it's annoying. I just feel like organic food is a boost to your life insurance, whereas you might be able to live a little longer because it's healthy.

  1. I agree that it seems like a hard topic to grasp specific information in one setting. It's crazy that all these companies have little secrets to hide from us, especially when we try to be cautious or healthy about our eating. I've tried to eat organic because it does have positive outcomes, but the cost and time into was just too much to handle on a daily basis. But you're right; it doesn't matter what you eat because at the end of the day you're still the same person hungry for something else in a couple of hours.

  2. Before this unit I honestly never saw what the big deal was about buying organic foods. To me, I always thought, "Well, fruits and vegetables are already healthy so why pay more to buy them organically?" However, now I see that not all foods are what they seem. Personally, I wouldn't pay more to buy organic foods even after learning what I have from this unit. I have done some research of my own and I have read from multiple websites that organic foods do not necessarily correspond to being healthier. Whether this is absolutely true or not, I do not know for sure. My opinion differs a little from yours stating it doesn't matter what you eat. I admit that although I am thin, I'm not exactly the healthiest eater at times. However, there may be internal problems within me that I don't know about. Perhaps I have a fast metabolism so it's easy for me to stay slim but if my diet is unhealthy, who knows what's going on inside me. I think a healthy diet along with exercise is the way to ensure a thriving life.

    1. I totally agree with you Annalise. I find it scary sometimes not knowing what I'm actually putting into my body. Like, some of the fruits and vegetables look pretty healthy, but as I read more and do more research about certain foods I've come to learn that looks can be deceiving.

  3. I see where your coming from but my opinion still differs when you said people could eat what they want. In reality, people ARE going to eat what they want but that doesn't make it good for them. All this processed food could be the reason for some of these different cancers. Because back in the 60's and 70's cancer wasn't such a big deal, well not as big as it is today at least. And I think it's related to the food, or "edible products" that we choose to consume. So just because you don't see and harmful results doesn't mean they aren't stirring up inside of you over time. I think everyone should maintain a healthy life style.
