Why we so desperately need bees

My research has all been directed towards insects, more specifically bees. I've gone through TED talks like"Every city needs healthy honey bees" by  Noah Wilson and articles such as "Food Politics" by
Marion Nestle that all speak about the importance of bees within our community. The article mentions that bees pollinate 71 of the 100 crops that provide 90 percent of the world’s food, and yet they're not treated that significant by industrial food companies. We depend on bees for pollination of plants, we rely on them for food but they're disappearing. Surprisingly bees are "Not just dying, but they're gone, we're not even finding dead bodies" says Wilson. It's a bizarre occurrence that not even researchers understand. To help combat the disappearance of bees the idea of urban beekeeping came up. Big cities are using the rooftops of buildings to attract bees, bees as research has shown actually thrive more in cities. Could it be because of the pesticides used along the countryside? Researchers can't find the specific source of their disappearance but thankfully there's rooftop beekeeping. Rooftop beekeeping is beneficial to everyone and the best part is that anyone can take part of it easily
